Teachers 'Shop' for Supplies

Teachers 'Shop' for Supplies Thanks to the Education Foundation

It isn’t unusual for teachers to dig deep into their own pockets to pay for school supplies each year, but thanks to The Education Foundation of Palm Beach County, teachers from 40 Title I schools in the District are getting a bit of a break.

Opened three years ago, the Red Apple Supplies store allows teachers from these schools to shop for critical items needed in their classrooms, at no charge.

Stocked full of pencils, paper, folders, markers, hand sanitizer and more, teachers get assistance filling their carts with everything their students need that their families may not be able to provide for the school year.

The supplies are gathered by the Foundation thanks to the generosity of the community and school drive events such as a recent backpack collection at Roger Dean Stadium and drives held by businesses around the county.
